Tricia has experience in Motivational Interviewing training through multiple pathways and across many disciplines and completed the MINT trade network training process in 2022. She is also qualified in Motivational Interviewing Training based on years of work with Tony Morrison of the United Kingdom, whose seven step model for contemplation of change became a template for work in Child Protection and Juvenile Justice in the UK. Co-author of the United States based revisions to his original curriculum, Tony and Tricia developed not only a training model, but also developed a cadre of coaches and mentors to work with staff on practice in the field. In continued work, Tricia has developed curricula specific to community partners and supervisors to use the motivational approach in multiple settings. Customized use of Motivational Interviewing approaches and development is based on community and agency identified goals for practice.
